A Little Scrappin

I'm such a bad blogger. Looking at the date of my last post, I guess I have turned into a once-a-month blogger maybe twice. I think of lots of things to post about, but when I get to my computer, either my mind goes blank or I just don't feel like typing it out. LOL

So, to at least post something, I will share a few layouts that I've made this week. It was fun & relaxing to just sit and create a few pages.

I think if you click on the pictures, you can see them bigger {in case you really want to read my journaling}. heee heee

These are all for the October Challenges at DSO
{If you heard DSO was going to close this month, well I have GOOD NEWS because it's going to remain OPEN! YAY}

I also want to wish Bunny a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I'm so excited because I already have my New Moon tickets!! My sister and I are going together to the midnight showing! November 19th can't come fast enough! HAHAHA

My kids have been out of school this whole week {Fall Break}. It's been really nice having them home. Although, Anson asks me every day "What's today? Is it a school day?" When I say "No." Then he says "Awwwwww I want to go to school!" He is a silly kid!

Hope your week has been good & have a wonderful weekend!

NO Cupcakes

Check out this dog when he's told he can't have these cupcakes {esp his eyes}.

I totally understand how he feels. I'd be staring at those cupcakes the same way if they were shoved in my face & they kept telling me NO get AWAY! hahaha

Thank You & Poor Doggies

I just want to THANK everyone who helped our friend, Jazzy, in her time of need! I am so amazed at the response we got. She is such a sweet angel for helping her grandson all these years! She was in tears when she read all her nice heart-felt notes from everyone & that we had a sale in her honor and donated 100% of the money raised that day just for her! You all are AWESOME!!

* * * * * * * * *
Here are our sweet babies - Pepper (boy-6) and Star (girl-8)
Pepper is a black lab & beagle mix, Star is a black lab & chow (we think) mix.
Aren't they CUTE?!!
Here I caught them huddled together after swimming a little bit.
{they HATE swimming, so when it's really hot, we take them in the pool just to cool them off a bit}

They love to cuddle on their big dog pillow/bed.
Star is a bit camera shy. Sounds weird, I know, but every time I want to take her picture, at the last minute she turns away. haha So, I had to catch her with her ears perky cuz she's the cutest when she's excited! They are patiently waiting for their treat!
Ok, so you're probably wondering why I labeled this post "Poor Doggies"

Well, Pepper has been shaking his head a lot lately and Star started to do it the other day too. We looked up on the internet and found out they may have a one of a couple things: ear mites (which is very contractable from animal to animal - they're parasites that live & lay eggs in animals ears and eventually make their way out of the ear onto the animal's skin) or an ear infection - either bacterial or yeast.

I took them both to the vet yesterday. Star has put on a little weight since the last time we took them to the vet (in TX). Star weighs 60 lbs {she's our little piggie} and Pepper is 40 lbs. Normally, they are both very sweet and docile. Star let them check her temperature (you know where) and check her ears. She wimpered a little because her ears are tender. Pepper, on the other hand, was NOT very pleased about how they wanted to check his temp! He nearly bit the vet's assistant's hand off! WOW! I told her that I've NEVER seen him do anything like that before. It was just his warning 'snap' and didn't get her. He would never hurt anyone on purpose. She said his temp wasn't that important! Whew! When the vet came in and tried to check his ears, he again had the same reaction. They had to muzzle his sweet little fuzzy mouth. I said he looked like Hannibal Lecter. ha ha Pepper also was shaking like he was scared. Poor guy! They were due for their shots so they got those too & then the asst gave them treats for being so good. Pepper wouldn't touch his treat until they left the room. Then he gobbled it up!

Anyway...after swabbing their ears and checking the microscopes...they have yeast ear infections!!! Star has one in her left ear and Pepper has the infection in both his ears!! Poor babies!! So, I have to use an ear wash in their ears once a day and ear drops twice a day for 2 weeks. They aren't thrilled to get stuff put in their ears {I don't blame them, I hate it too}, but they enjoy the little massage we give them to get the drops to go all the way in. Hope these drops work and they feel better soon!

Funny Family Stuff

I feel like I've been really busy this week, but doing what??? Not totally sure. ha ha

The kids are loving Ginger - tons!! I think Anson checks on her like every 5 minutes...just to pet her. LOL Good thing she adores all the LOVE!! Turns out that she LOVES and goes absolutely crazy over a laser pointer (or as Ashley calls it "laser chaser")! She's hilarious! She jumps and skids all over just to chase the silly little red laser light! hee hee

Ginger's getting gutsy! Last night she snuck out of the bathroom and I found her on our bed. I was on the computer (and the dogs always follow me), so the dogs weren't in our room. As I went back into our room (everyone was in bed), I heard a little "meow" and Ben said she was on the bed! She had hopped over the baby gate and felt it safe enough (w/o the dogs in the room) to venture out. Well, she hopped back into the bathroom as soon as she heard the dogs come in. I left and she did the same thing again. This time, she didn't flinch, didn't move an inch, just laid there, even when Star (one of our dogs) was almost nose-to-nose with her. Star got a little jumpy, so Ginger finally jumped back to the bathroom. But not without doing the dog-cat-stare-down-dance first. ha ha
Apparently, SINKS are the "in" thing for cats! Check this out Cats-in-Sinks!

Oh, lately Anson has been having a little computer time & learning how to maneuver the mouse (all with Ben's computer since he plays while Ben's at work). Yesterday I noticed Anson was messing with Ben's computer while I was on the phone. I told him to get off. Then as I hung up the phone, all of a sudden I heard Ben's computer totally power down! Sometimes Anson will turn off the monitor and think he's turning off the computer. But this time it shut down for real. I asked "What did you do?" He said "I shut down Daddy's computer." You know, like duh it's off, what do you think happened? ha ha. Well, he must've figured out how to shut it down from the "start" button. Not really sure. He can't read, so I don't know how he did it but he turned it off safely.

Last night I was out - teaching "How to start a blog" for our Enrichment Tech Tuesday. When I was done, Ben called and said 'someone' messed with his desktop on his monitor and not just moved icons around (Anson's famous for doing that) but also changed pictures! Ben decided to ask Anson (since he's usually the culprit).
"Anson, did you mess with my computer?"

Anson's response "Dad, you be so rude to me!" HA HA HA HA
Was that his answer? I guess that was his way of 'covering' it up. This kid just cracks me up!!!!! Ben had to call me immediately to tell me his response! I was laughing so hard while shopping in Albertson's (trying to get the chicken raincheck - it was on sale for $1.69/lb - but butcher was already closed)!
While I was at Albertson's just looking around for any last minute good deals, I stumbled on these:

I bought a box (6 in a pkg). I also got a box with the little crunchies on the outside. Alright, I will admit - I am an "Ice Cream Bar" ADDICT!!! I ate one while putting groceries away. Ok I had 2. Then when I was done putting groceries away, I went to check my email, with another ice cream bar in hand. I was working on another digi-scrap kit and needed another bar. Yikes! That's 4 bars in like half an hour!! Well, today I had another then another. Whoops! One box gone! Time to open the crunchy one. Bad news...I just finished off the 2nd box! Earlier, I was trying to get 2 chocolate drops off my white shirt before Ben got home, so he wouldn't ask where the chocolate spots came from! ha ha Most of it came off & he didn't ask. But he'll probably notice when if he looks in our recycle trash can. There's TWO empty boxes that I just brought home last night!!!

They were GOOD!!! I'm not allowed to buy these cuz I just can't help myself. Do you have a 'treat' that you just CANNOT stop eating til it's all gone?

Now that the chocolate is gone, I can focus on other things! LOL :) Like finishing my kit for the DSO shop! Ooops missed the cut-off for this week, darn it. So, it will have to wait til next week! New Release Thursday is tomorrow!! There will be some beauties (as usual) in there! Check it out, then hopefully my new stuff will be in the store next week! But don't forget about the free DLADay goodies at the DSO blog! A new freebie goodie is up each day - but remember the link is only good for ONE day!

Before I forget...we finally planned our family vacation!!! I'm so excited! Ben asked for his vacation days a couple months ago, but we never really decided what we wanted to do or where to go! Wanna know? We finally had it narrowed down to San Diego - San Diego Zoo or Sea World. We took it to the kids for a vote, but that didn't do us any good. The vote was split 50-50. Ben and I had to finally decide. We chose San Diego Zoo AND San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park plus a day for the beach! We found a pretty cool deal online for a 2-in-1 pass! I already bought & printed the tickets! Ben found us a nice motel (last summer when we went to Disneyland - we stayed in what Ben called "a flea bag"motel, ha haha) better than last year's vacation, and already reserved it online. YAY!!! Now all we have to do is DRIVE all the way there when it's time, which is in a couple weeks.

Happy Saturday

Ok, I'm still a little tired from Girls Night Out. Trying to catch up on sleep is becoming a challenge this week. {No, honey, I'm not complaining. I'm not allowed to complain since I did it to myself. I'm just saying.}

Ben woke me up before he left for work to let me know that one of the dogs had maybe peed in our room and threw up in our computer room. NICE! Ben barely has time to get himself ready and race out the door to work. So, I needed to get up and take care of it. Yuck! I was so tired, so I said I needed a few more minutes of sleep then I'd get right on it.

Well, Nathaniel woke up before Ben left and was WIDE AWAKE!! A little while later, Anson was WIDE AWAKE!! Nathaniel then informed me that Anson had let the dogs back in the house and Pepper (one of our dogs) was EATING the vomit! NASTY!!!!!!!!! Seriously, why do they do that? It's so GROSS!!

We put the dogs back out & I got UP at 7:15AM!!! On a Saturday!! That's not normal for me. Got the carpet cleaner out, filled it with hot water, added the soap, turned it on to warm up more, scooped up the vomit, then cleaned the carpet messes! Now they're done & clean. I have to say that the dogs normally don't make messes in the house, just on that rare occasion like today. It's still disgusting though!

Happy Saturday!!
