Tidbits About ME

1. I HATE shaving my legs! I even bought an electric razor so I don't get those ugly red razor burn bumps! I still only shave maybe once a week! I know gross! But I usually wear long pants anyway until Sunday - when I wear skirts or dresses! When I was a senior in high school, my brother bet me that I couldn't go a whole month without shaving my legs! See, it doesn't take me very long to grow my monstrous amount of thick long black hairs. I did it! I went the whole month of March without shaving. I even wore shorts! I did try to hide my legs under my desk during classes so no one would see the grossness! However, a guy did notice and said "Oh my gosh! When was the last time you shaved?!" That was embarrassing! When the month was over, I practically looked like a Wookie! ha ha ha

2. I still like cartoons! I don't think it's just a kid thing. BUT I don't really like the 'new' cartoons. When Ben & I were first married, we used to set out VCR to record (on vhs) Spiderman cartoons, then we'd watch them while eating dinner. Sometimes we watch Anime (aka Japanimation) cartoons too.

3. I LOVE all things SWEET! When I was in high school, I bought a big box of sugar cubes. I ate them as treats. When my friends would come over, I would offer them as 'study' snacks {not to be confused with 'Scooby' snacks}! LOL

4. When I was young (um, I think younger than 3rd grade, can't remember exact age), we went to Mexico for a family vacation. I knew how to roll my R's so I thought that if I did that, it meant I was speaking Spaneech (how I pronounced Spanish as a kid). I told my parents I could speak Spaneech. They told me to say something in Spanish. I said "Garrrrrrrrrbage!" heee heee They laughed and told me YEP sounds like Spaneech!

5. I once got a speeding ticket for going over 100 mph! It was late at night and I was cruising down the freeway. The cop went off the frwy going the other direction, then I saw him get back on just to turn on his blinking lights! He used his speaker thing to tell me to put my hands out the window so he could see them! It was kinda freaky. Then he yelled at me & said he should be taking me to jail because going over a certain speed limit is a FELONY! He asked where I was going that I was in such a hurry! I told him I needed to get home, so I wouldn't get in trouble for being late! (I was 19 and still lived at home) He took pity on me (mostly because I was scared and began to cry - I felt like such a dork) and decided to give me a ticket with a little lecture. Whew! I saved a little money by taking the boring driving class instead of paying for the ticket. Learned my lesson - never drive that fast again!

6. In junior high, I changed my nail (and toes) polish almost daily to match my outfits! LOL

7. I have to get a cortisone shot in the joint of my 2nd metatarsal on my left foot (Thursday, is that today or tomorrow? I'll say tomorrow cuz I haven't gone to bed yet) because something is wrong with the joint, but not bad enough for surgery! A couple years ago I went to a podiatrist (in TX) & was diagnosed with Freiberg's Disease (info HERE and HERE). He said I needed surgery, but once we moved to AZ, my AZ podiatrist thinks it's not bad enough for surgery. I had a cortisone shot during my bunionectomy (Oct 2006). After months of excrutiating pain, had my 2nd shot Nov 2007. Time for another! YAY! {can u hear the sarcasm?} Well, the first day it hurts really bad because when the cortisone gets injected into my joint - it swells really big and throbs ALL DAY! So, I get to lay on the couch, choke down a pain pill (yes it hurts THAT much) and stay OFF my feet the whole day! A day or two later the joint starts to numb a little. Takes about a week before it feels much better. OUCH! Wish me luck!
